The Human Resources Frame

What is the Human Resources Frame?

The Human Resources frame is not the employment of traditional HR standards for employees, rather, “This frame encourages leaders to see employees not just as resources, but as individuals with unique needs, motivations, and aspirations” (de la Cruz, 2025). In the Human Resources frame, the focus of the organization is by meeting employees where they are and recognizing their unique needs and challenges. The HR frame is largely used in organizations with a more humanistic approach to the way management is organized. In this approach, leaders are taught to understand and value the unique thoughts, actions, and backgrounds of each of their employees in order to create a more inclusive and inviting workplace environment. This frame works well within creative and skill-driven environments such as healthcare, tech, and higher education.

Reflection

After researching the HR frame, I have learned a lot about how to effectively integrate employee needs and motivation within the workplace. Moving forward, I will employ the use of the HR frame to better understand the teams that I am working with in order to properly motivate and build culture within the team. I have learned that the HR frame is incredibly important in creating effective and high-touch teams, understanding employee needs and being able to appreciate the skills that each individual brings to the team.
